"He is one of our greatest movie stars ever. Our paths never crossed in the '80s. We never worked together. I don't remember even having met him — I'm sure we probably did, but I don't remember. I'd noticed that he will pick up on some little thing that the other person is doing or saying or whatever, and kind of put it back to them. It was great. I loved working with him."
Bacon and Murphy's on-screen collaboration does not have to end with Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. Amidst multiple projects that Murphy has lined up, including two films in the Shrek franchise, the comedian has voiced his desire to remake the 1963 caper comedy It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. The original film had a large ensemble, so if Murphy made the film, he could choose a wide variety of cast members. With the pair enjoying their recent collaboration, Bacon could be one such actor.
