Nathan Dunsmore and fellow Airdrieonians supporters were involved in a mass brawl at the town's West End Bar.
Annette Ward, prosecuting, said: "The Airdrie group were seen on CCTV with their hoods up and their faces partially covered with scarves. The accused was part of the group.
"As soon as the Airdrie supporters arrived there was an altercation that turned into a scuffle between the two groups. "This quickly spilled on to the street and in the course of that an individual was assaulted by two unidentified males. "Defence lawyer Nicky Matteo told the court: "This happened at a time when he was drinking and taking drugs to excess.
Sheriff Joseph Hughes slammed Dunsmore for laughing in the dock while CCTV of the shocking incident was played, saying: "It looked like it was a bit of fun and that concerns me.
" Mr Matteo said Dunsmore had laughed because he was "embarrassed" on seeing how he'd been dressed that day. The sheriff jailed Dunsmore for a year but backdated the sentence as he had been in prison for other matters since May 2024. At an earlier hearing two other Airdrie fans were handed two-year football banning orders for their part in the trouble.
