Outrage as miserable animals are abandoned in filthy zoo two months after it closed down
HEARTBREAKING images show miserable tigers, bears and monkeys languishing in an abandoned zoo two months after it closed have sparked outrage.
Activists reportedly offered to re-home the animals, but the local authorities in Ayamonte ignored their requests. It was feared that the animals were left to die, and now the horrific images have confirmed them. The Proyecto Gran Simio slammed zoo bosses for failing to act and said the lack of security could lead to the animals escaping.
“There is stagnant water in their enclosures, with great danger of infection if they consume it. It could also become a nest of mosquitoes, transmitting diseases.Mr Terrados said it was unclear who was feeding the animals, if anyone, and said it was feared they would die."How many vitamins to each species? What control do they have? None. We do not know anything.
