CLEVELAND, Ohio - Hundreds of thousands of people remain in the dark Wednesday morning while others begin to clean up the damage following Tuesday’s severe weather .The Illuminating Company issued the following statement Wednesday morning:
The damage across greater Cleveland after last night’s storm is significant and widespread, consisting of hundreds of broken poles and crossarms, downed power lines and fallen trees and debris blocking road access. Approximately 348,500 customers in northeast Ohio lost power due to the storm, and 305,000 customers remain without service, primarily in the hardest-hit areas of Cuyahoga, Lake and Ashtabula counties.
