Health officials are warning customers against using some bagged spinach after some were found to contain a deadly bacteria
More than 40 types of bagged spinach are being recalled. It comes after some were found to contain listeria monocytogenes, the bacteria that causes the potentially fatal infection listeriosis that can cause flu-like symptoms, muscle aches, diarrhea and upset stomach.
The packages included in the recall have lot numbers #40606 and 11006 with an expiration date of 6/20/24 and 6/24/24. No illnesses have been reported at the time of publishing. Production of the contaminated products have been suspended and customers are urged to return any affected products to the store they were purchased from for a full refund.
