'I truly believe buying or collecting books cannot be overdone,' says book reviewer
If you do, you’re not alone. If you love to read, impulsive purchases of books sometimes just happen.It’s easy to pick up a new book, either a physical one or an eBook, with the best of intentions, but then it sits on a shelf or in your eReader, which can be a costly thing.Kaitlyn Evans from Mount Pearl reads on average a whopping 110 books a year. She has strategies that she uses to ensure she reads the books she buys so she doesn't waste her money.
"Secondly, before purchasing a book in-store, I read a page from the first 50 pages. If I like the writing style and am absorbed, I’ll give it a shot. If not, I won’t read it. This rule is crucial when a book that’s popular is recommended to me via social media. Regardless of the hype the book has, if I read a page and don’t like it, I won’t let myself buy it.

And I truly believe buying or collecting books cannot be overdone.”“While I may never get to reading all the books in my collection in my lifetime, the fear of not having that perfect book to read next is the real worry.”
“I do have times, though, when I find it hard to read, hard to focus. Most recently, I stopped reading when we first went into lockdown: I just found it hard to concentrate for long periods," she explains. Murray’s TBR books are in a basket by her favourite reading chair and are a mix of fiction, non-fiction, and books for her work.As far as compulsive shopping for books goes, Murray feels that book-buying is a pretty minor vice.
