Motorists are set to face delays in their commute this morning after the incident at J6A, at Chapelhall, which took place just before 8am - with traffic beginning to build.

The incident took place on J6A, at Chapelhall, just before 8am on Wednesday. It is affecting both lanes on the westbound stretch of the busy motorway.

Traffic Scotland wrote on X: "An overturned car is currently affecting both live lanes on the #M8 Westbound at J6A."Traffic can pass at the minute using the chevrons but is already beginning to build and tailback." As of 8.30am, a spokesperson added: "Traffic cannot join the #M8 from the Westbound entry slip road." Travel time is 20 minutes.We have contacted Police Scotland the Scottish Ambulance Service for comment.
