Meet the owner of new food spot Romy's near Glasgow
THE owner of Clydebank’s newest restaurant is hoping to bring something different to the town’s culinary scene.
Cara said: “The reason I wanted to open Romy’s first and foremost is to offer something a bit different. The 32-year-old grew up in Strathblane and began working in kitchens in local hotels at the age of 12 washing dishes. “I worked for the same couple for about ten years on and off and they really took me under their wing."However, one day I just thought ‘I want a place of my own’. We did look at this unit about a year and a half ago but the timing wasn’t right and when we looked again it was still there, I just knew we had to go for it."So when I lived here we would go further afield for something to eat. Not that there is anything wrong with the“I think Clydebank is ready for something different.
