Abu, a Turkish Malakli, is just two years old but stands a whopping 7ft 2in tall when on his hind legs and weighs more than 18 stone.

The owner of a dog thought to be the UK's biggest says the "gentle giant" eats a whole chicken for dinner every day.

Despite Abu's monster size, he is a "gentle giant" who loves snuggling with Dylan's kids - India, five, and Reuben, four - on the couch. Dylan said: “Abu has been a pleasure to own, he’s a really good family dog and he’s great with kids. Dylan, a dog trainer, said he’d always wanted a Turkish Malakli, but had to wait until he had enough room at home to have such a giant pet. Abu was imported from Turkey in November 2021 at just four months old – but he was already bigger than Dylan's other dog, a Doberman named Luna.
