Robert Tiro was arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas and personnel of the Naval Forces Central, Philippine Maritime Police, and Bohol Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit.Leia Alcantara, information officer of PDEA-7, said it took a month of case build-up before the suspect was arrested.
Alcantara added that the suspect was capable of selling two to three kilos of shabu a week in various areas in Tagbilaran. The arrest of Tiro was a follow-up operation after his nephew was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu last August 8, Alcantara added.Alcantara said the PDEA-7 believes that Tiro is just a new player in the illegal drugs trade as he did not have previous records showing that he was into drug peddling.
