Danville Area High School agriculture teacher and forester, Van Wagner, is on the climbing journey of a lifetime. Since January 2023, Wagner has been advancing
his conservation project, "67 Trees on 67 Mountains in 67 Counties." Over the next few years, he hopes to climb to the tallest point in every Pennsylvania county, in an effort to raise awareness about PA forests.
While speaking to local lawmakers, Wagner expressed his love for Pennsylvania's ecosystem, and the many ways forests help the state. He went on to say, "We need to be aware that our forest is fragile. I want all Pennsylvanians to be part of that conversation. How do we go forward with managing our forests? "
