Now, the bear will travel back to Peru, where he is from, and connect with his roots.
Can Paddington in Peru Live Up to Its Predecessors? In addition to giving a glimpse at the upcoming threequel, the Paddington in Peru trailer revealed the release date of the film. The family film will be released to theaters on November 8, which is earlier than the originally slated 2025 release window. Paddington in Peru appears to be the most raucous film of the series yet, sending Paddington and the Browns through the Amazonian rainforest as they attempt to find Aunt Lucy.
Paddington in Peru is faced with the nearly impossible task of following Paddington 2. With an impressive 99% on Rotten Tomatoes, the sequel was universally adored by its audiences. Heightening the Wes Anderson-like visual qualities of the first film, Paddington 2 is the ideal blend of caper film, style, and heart. This makes Paddington 2 a near-perfect family film, as well of one of the best films of its release year overall.
Paddington 3 must also surmount the difficult challenge of losing two of its main team members. One major loss includes director Paul King, who helmed the first two Paddington films. King had to bow out of Paddington in Peru in order to direct the musical film Wonka. Former star Sally Hawkins also opted out of Paddington in Peru, and is now recast as Emily Mortimer.
