David Healy was heavily linked with a move to Raith Rovers last week but has committed his future to Linfield
Paddy McLaughlin says he was surprised the David Healy to Raith Rovers story "went as far as it did". Healy became a target of the Raith last week and appeared on the cusp of making the move to the Scottish Championship club.
Former Cliftonville boss McLaughlin told the BBC: "It was a done deal, apparently. If you listen to the noise, Raith said they had a done deal and everything was agreed with Linfield and David. That surprised me. "But being a success at Linfield would probably mean more to many managers than managing Raith. David is his own man and had his own reasons for speaking to Raith and showing an interest. But I think he has made the right decision staying where he is.
Meanwhile, McLaughlin says he is ready to get back in the dugout after taking a break from management.
