Summary Padmé finally gets to see what became of Anakin in Star Wars after her death on Mustafar thanks to one lighthearted cosplay video. Padmé and Anakin’s romance begins in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones when Anakin is stationed on her home planet of Naboo to protect her from assassins. They initially wrestle with the logistics of having a secret romance despite the strict Jedi Code, but eventually give in to their feelings and marry in a secret ceremony.
Doubling down on the Star Wars: Attack of the Clones references, she quotes Padmé’s words to Anakin when the two reunite after two years apart. This time, however, “My goodness, you’ve grown,” takes on a new meaning as the former Anakin looms over Padmé in his bulky suit. That doesn’t seem to bother Padmé, who follows her husband as she wields a red lightsaber of her own.
