David Buckley 'appeared nervous' in front of police before sneaking off to the bathroom with his mobile phone
A convicted paedophile flushed his mobile phone down the toilet in a desperate attempt to stop police discovering his new stash of vile images.
Buckley, who changed his name after his 2015 conviction, was caught on April 17 2023, when police executed a search warrant at his address. His phone was seized, and 19 indecent images of children were found, including one category A image of a girl aged between three and four years old. "Police heard a noise, went in and noticed he had in fact put the phone down the toilet, and it was retrieved from the U-bend. Obviously the phone was wet and it had been corrupted, and as a result police were unable to investigate that any further."Ken Heckle, defending, said Buckley had admitted to him that the phone contained further indecent images of children. He said: "This defendant accepts he has got a problem.
