David Hampson was jailed on his 60th birthday
A paedophile's house was trashed and daubed with graffiti after his activities on Facebook were revealed.
Louise Santamera, prosecuting, described how he was "initially friendly", but "at times rather persistent and insistent". The pervert subsequently "encouraged her to take her knickers off" and "asked her to touch herself between her legs". Ken Heckle, defending, told the court that his client was "shameful and very embarrassed", adding: "What a way to spend one's 60th birthday. Sadly it is the defendant's 60th today, in custody.
"A crowd has not turned up out of the blue. They were trying to get further admissions or putting evidence to him, and it soon became common knowledge. Hampson admitted attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity and attempting to engage in sexual communications with a child. Appearing via video link to HMP Altcourse, he was imprisoned for two years.
