The northeast monsoon or “amihan” season may end this week, which will signal the start of the warm and dry season in the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Monday, March 20.
In the next 24 hours, PAGASA said the amihan will only affect the extreme northern Luzon and bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated light rains over Batanes and Babuyan Islands.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies or localized thunderstorms. Weather specialist Obet Badrina said PAGASA has not monitored a tropical cyclone that may affect the country this week.
