Paisley residents have been told to avoid a busy road following a police incident today, Monday May 6.
Officers have closed a section of Glasgow Road between Buchlyvie Road and Allanton Avenue after they received reports of a disturbance. Videos and images seen by Glasgow Live appear to show a police car at a standstill after crashing into a nearby wall and a black vehicle stopped beside it. Another video shows an officer running and an individual, who appears to be wielding a chainsaw, in the middle of the road. The final images show a large number of officers swarm the area.
It is unclear whether there were any injuries during the disturbance or if anyone has been apprehended following the incident. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Glasgow Road in Paisley is closed between Buchlyvie Road and Allanton Avenue following a disturbance."Officers are at the scene.
