Gary McGuinness - who previously was sentenced to five years in jail after being convicted of attempted murder - viciously assaulted the two young women on March 13 in a common close on Charles Avenue in Renfrew.

A Paisley brute is facing a lengthy jail time after violently attacking two young women and threatening to rape one of them.

Kelly Davidson and Louise McKenna are friends and both attended to at the property to collect items of clothing.The court was shown three graphic video clips which captured the full incident on a Ring doorbell.

“This is a shocking incident and your record of violence concerns me as it appears being on licence didn’t stop your violence. I want to have an assessment done on you for a supervised release order. The public may need to be protected from you.”
