MANILA, Philippines: Malacañang warned the public against a manipulated video circulating online featuring an audio of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. supposedly ordering the Armed Forces of the Philippines to 'act against a particular foreign country.'In a statement, the Presidential Communications Office said the President has 'no such directive' and the audio 'deepfake' was created using generative artificial intelligence .
Citing its Media and Information Literacy Campaign, the PCO said it was actively working on measures to combat fake news, misinformation, disinformation, and malinformation.The PCO said it was also closely coordinating and working with relevant government agencies and private sector partners to address the proliferation and malicious use of video and audio deepfakes and other generative AI content.
