You've heard of T. rex; now meet R. rex! Palaeontologists left stunned by 'oldest record of cannibalism in the fossil record'
called trilobites that lived some 514–509 million years ago, during the Cambrian period. Trilobites — named for their three-lobed bodies — are extinct marine arthropods that look like woodlice but are in fact more closely related to sea spiders and horseshoe crabs. The Cambrian is known for its explosion in the diversity of complex marine life, an evolutionary frenzy driven in part by the growing arms race between predators and prey.
