Ben Jamal, director of the PSC, said the march was “fuelled by love for the principle of the dignity and rights of all human beings”. The police force said it had spent around £38.4m policing the PSC’s marches since they began in October, and that more than 44,000 police shifts had been dedicated to policing the protests.
