Manchester City are interested in signing Palmeiras defender Vitor Reis this month, but the Brazilian club have made it clear that they want to keep him for the FIFA Club World Cup in June and July. Palmeiras president Leila Pereira has stated that Reis is a key player for them in the tournament and that they will only consider selling him if an offer is received that is both financially appealing and allows him to join his new club after the Club World Cup.
Manchester City transfer target Vitor Reis is for sale this month - but the Blues have been sent a clear message over the terms of any potential deal.
Lens have confirmed negotiations are under way for Khusanov, but Palmeiras have now sent a clear message over what it will take to sign Reis - who is valued at around £40m. Speaking to the Athletic, Palmeiras president Leila Pereira responded to City's transfer interest, insisting Reis is firmly in their plans for the Club World Cup.
“Several European clubs are interested. At the moment there are only soundings from various clubs . . . no official proposal. He has a contract. But if there is an interesting offer for Palmeiras and the player, we will sit down and talk."
