West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Alex Palmer has completed a move to Ipswich Town on the final day of the January transfer window. Palmer underwent a medical at Portman Road and will be looking to make an immediate impact at his new club.
The 28-year-old had a medical at Portman Road before the transfer deadline and will leave The Hawthorns having come through the club's academy."I'm looking forward to a new challenge," said Palmer. "Ipswich is a club that's going places and everything I've heard about the manager has been nothing but positive.
Palmer has made 104 appearances for West Brom, who are sixth in the Championship, with them opting to sell him as they believe they have a strong succession plan in Josh Griffiths, Joe Wildsmith and England Under-19s keeper Ben Cisse. Palmer's arrival gives McKenna another goalkeeping option after Arijanet Muric has made a number of costly errors this season, being at fault for both goals conceded on Saturday when
