The audit findings have led the NI director of the Royal College of Surgeons to call for "enhanced" services. It highlights the need for increased awareness of symptoms among the public and GPs to support early diagnosis She said more awareness from Colin and herself, as well as the medical professionals involved in his treatment, would have made a difference to his diagnosis.
