The pundit has been looking over the dramatic clash in Glasgow and has delivered his verdict.
Paolo Di Canio says Lazio served up some humble pie for their gaffer in beating Celtic on Champions League duty.
Brendan Rodgers' men were left heartbroken when Pedro headed home on 95 minutes to seal a 2-1 win for Maurizio Sarri's side. It leaves the Premiership champions bottom of Group E on zero points after two games, with Italian and former Celtic man Di Canio insisting that the away crew perhaps had a point to prove after a tough Serie A start.
It was also deemed a no-frills win on Scottish soil. He said: "It was an ugly win for Lazio, but they won't care. The important thing for them was just to somehow get the victory after what had been happening to them. They simply had to get the win after being so disappointing in Serie A. "I think the players showed the desire needed at a place like Celtic Park. But wins like these are sometimes what you need to get your season going. Perhaps the players wanted to make Sarri eat his words because of what he had been saying about the season so far. But I thought Sarri deserved a lot of praise.
"It would have been easy to make substitutions to play for a draw, but the changes he made showed he wanted to go for the win. The subs were fantastic and changed the game. Matches are won and lost with substitutions."
