The Royal Regiment of Scotland (SCOTS) will march through Motherwell when they receive the Freedom of North Lanarkshire on Saturday.

The parade is held in recognition of the SCOTS's outstanding service to their country and the local area.

The parade will start at Dalziel High School at 12pm, moving down Hamilton Road, and ending at Strathclyde Park Watersports Centre. The procession will feature soldiers from The 2nd Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland , with the 2 SCOTS Pipes and Drums, The Band of The Royal Regiment of Scotland, and Regimental Mascot, Corporal Cruachan IV.Mr Duffy said:"This is a momentous occasion for North Lanarkshire, and a wonderful opportunity for us to express our gratitude and admiration for the brave men and women of The Royal Regiment of Scotland.
