The original Crawl, which debuted shortly before the global halt of film production due to the COVID-19 pandemic, achieved significant commercial success, earning more than $90 million worldwide against a modest budget of around $15 million. Furthermore, Crawl has garnered favorable critical acclaim, attaining a Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and its audience response was similarly positive, making it a rare pandemic-era success story on all fronts.
