A major parcel delivery firm has opened a new £2.5m centre in the county, creating more than 20 jobs in the process.

Daniel Carrera – President of UPS Europe, Mark Pritchard MP , and Rick Fletcher – Managing Director, UPS UK, Ireland & Nordics, were joined by two UPS drivers for the opening.

Speaking at the official opening today, Rick Fletcher, Managing Director, UPS UK, Ireland & Nordics, said:"Our new location in Telford represents more than an investment in UPS and our capabilities – it’s an investment in our customers and in the resilience of our business. UPS Europe's President, Daniel Carrera, was also present, along with the Wrekin's Conservative MP, Mark Pritchard.

"This multimillion-pound investment is a vote of confidence in Shropshire's economy. It will create new jobs for local people and is a boost for local businesses looking to sell their products and services across the county, the region, and the world."
