Buying school uniform for September can be a pricey experience but a money saving tip can see shoppers save £5 on essentials
Retailers up and down the high street have been trying to tempt shoppers to prepare early for September, with Marks and Spencer, Next and various supermarkets like Aldi, Tu and George at Asda all offering bargain prices and bundle deals. While costs can soon add up when kitting out kids for the new school year, a money saving hack allows any parent with a phone to save £5 on the essentials no matter where they're shopping from.
Money saving deals site TopCashback usually handles online purchases, but has launched a special one-off in-person deal that runs until the end of the month. People who sign up as new customers and send them a photo of their proof of purchase will get £5 credited to their account - no matter which high street or supermarket retailers they bought it from.
All shoppers have to make sure is that the receipt clearly shows the date and time of purchase, name of the shop and items bought that are eligible for the £5 cashback. Multiple items can be used to reach the £10 minimum spend, including socks, shirts, trousers, skirts and even school bags. To claim the so-called Snap and Save bonus, all customers need to do is sign up to TopCashback through this special link and take a picture of their receipt – it’s as simple as that. Receipts for all stores that sell school uniforms will be accepted for the duration of the deal, which runs until 11.59pm on Saturday, August 31. Full terms and conditions are available here, the deal is live now.
Elsewhere, Amazon has unveiled a school uniform shop offering all kinds of education essentials perfect for last-minute shopping or if you just want to avoid the shops in the summer weather.
