Parents fined £120 for taking son out of school for six days for gran's funeral
TWO grieving parents were left furious after they were fined £120 for taking their son out of school to go to his grandmother’s funeral in South Africa.
They can appeal the penalty charge by challenging it with headteacher Jennifer Mountford, but as it is the summer holidays there is no one to answer their complaint until classes resume on September 3.
