'People are struggling as it is to keep up with food and utility bills'
PARENTS have hit out at a Barrhead school’s decision to impose a new uniform policy on all girls during the cost-of-living crisis.
Emma Cuthbert, whose two daughters attend the school, told our sister title the Barrhead News: “Many parents have expressed concerns about the cost per skirt. “Local uniform shops offer a bundle, trying to keep costs down, but it’s still £110 for a senior bundle, which includes a blazer, tartan skirt, a sweatshirt, a tie and PE top.
Extending the new uniform policy to all year groups has also been questioned amid concerns that younger pupils will grow more rapidly, meaning the new skirts will need to be replaced more frequently.has defended the uniform policy and said it will not mean undue extra costs for parents.
