But Ms Wong is among those calling for greater mitigation measures in school settings and believes that if these had been implemented during Covid, the current situation of rising Strep A cases could have been avoided.
Ms Wong added: “Clinically Vulnerable children have lost more of their education than most through lockdowns and shielding. However, parents feel they have no choice but to withdraw their children again, risking potential fines and prosecutions, even though clean air is now supposedly a human right. All children deserve safe schools.
