Parents’ tribute to 'special daughter’ Elle Edwards killed in Christmas Eve pub shooting.
The parents of a woman who was shot dead in a pub on Christmas Eve have paid tribute to their “special daughter” who was the “light of their life”. Elle Edwards was with friends in the Lighthouse pub in Wallasey Village when a gunman opened fire shortly before midnight.
A 22-year-old man also suffered an injury to his legs, a 24-year-old man sustained an injury to his hand and a 33-year-old man suffered an injury to his wrist.Tributes have been left at the scene of the shooting. In a touching note, Elle’s parents wrote: "To my beautiful Elle, you are the light of my life you will never be gone, Mum and Dad xxxx."
Last night police arrested a 30-year-old man from Tranmere on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. A 19-year-old woman from Rock Ferry was also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. Det Sup Sue Coombs from Major Crime Investigations said: “We have made two arrests in connection with this cold-blooded shooting. Elle’s family are still having to come to terms with her tragic loss, and our specially trained family liaison officers are supporting them.
