Paris Hilton has enlisted Rina Sawayama for a new song, 'I'm Free,' from her upcoming second album, 'Infinite Icon.'
“I’m Free” pairs gossamer synths with club pop percussion, with Hilton and Sawayama singing on the chorus, “I’m free/To do what I wanna do/It’s my life/I’ll do what I wanna do/I wanna see the sunrise, dance under the moon/I can be here all night if I wanted to/Cause I’m free.”
The song was inspired by Ultra Naté’s 1997 house hit, “Free,” which Hilton first heard at a New York City club not long after she was released from a Utah boarding school, where she said “For me, the song represents the journey of healing and finding your voice,” Hilton said in a statement . “It has served as an anthem of hope and a guiding light and I’m honored to have had the chance to create this new version. I’m also so grateful to have Rina Sawayama’s mesmerizing vocals and lyrics on the song. Together, Rina and I hope to inspire fans around the world to embrace their own strong voices and feel free to fully express themselves.
