A man riding an electric scooter on a Paris highway has died, after a collision with a motorbike
Incidents involving the scooters are becoming increasingly common in France - just a day earlier a 27-year-old woman died in Lyon after falling from the electric scooter she was riding in the cycle lane.
Last week a 41-year-old man was seriously injured in an accident near Lille, in the north of the country. A 25-year-old man died in June when he collided with a lorry in central Paris, which is thought to be the first fatal electric scooter accident in the city.Last month, British YouTuber, Emily Hartridge, died in southwest LondonThe scooters, which can exceed speeds of 30mph, are banned from public roads and pavements in the UK.
Paris introduced a 20mph speed limit, after people were able to hire the vehicles on the street, and banned users from riding them on the pavement, otherwise they could face a fine of around £125.
