The Racecourse park and ride will be re-opened on Friday 1st September
A Nottingham park and ride is set to be closed for another two days after travellers pitched up on the site. Nottingham City Council has confirmed that the Racecourse Park and Ride in Colwick will be closed until Friday following an illegal encampment on site.
It comes after travellers arrived on the site yesterday afternoon . The council confirmed that the site would be closed until further notice. Although a closure was in place drivers could collect their vehicles at any time on Tuesday up until the usual closing time. The travellers have since left the site.In a recent statement, a spokesperson for Nottingham City Council said: “The travellers have left the site so no formal notice was needed on this occasion. The site is planned to be re-opened on Friday 1st September as a clean-up is required.
Yesterday, the council said: "Due to an illegal encampment, we have taken the decision to close Colwick Park and Ride site today and it will remain closed until further notice. Drivers can still collect their vehicle at any time up until the usual closing time tonight We apologise for any inconvenience."
