He's been an arts journalist for over 20 years and previously worked for The Independent.Michael Parkinson was lucky to be at the height of his interviewing powers in the 70s and early 80s – a time before the word “celebrity” became so debased that it now applies to anybody who has had five minutes of exposure on a reality dating show.
