Christopher Comfort, now 42, of Warsaw, was indicted in December 2022 for having phone contact with the child, who went missing in October that year.Comfort was arrested last April in Shamokin Dam, Pennsylvania, after investigators found him and the missing child in a motel room that Comofrt's mother paid for, according to police.Comfort was charged in Pennsylvania with kidnapping, criminal contempt, possession of drugs with intent to deliver, and fugitive from justice.
New York state prison records indicate Comfort has been at Riverview Correctional Facility in Ogdensburg since March 18, convicted of aggravated family offense and sentenced to a minimum of 16 months and a maximum of four years in prison. Comfort's mother, Marie Vinci, 60, of Wilmington, North Carolina, was arrested in Wyoming County last April and charged with custodial interference and hindering prosecution.
