Daniel Farke's side came from behind to salvage a point on the opening day of the Championship
Pascal Struijk says Leeds United need to be ready for every team who comes to Elland Road taking their game up a level this season. The Whites had to come from behind to salvage a point against newly promoted Portsmouth. The centre-half had given Daniel Farke's side the lead from the spot, before John Mousinho's men went two goals to the good.
Struijk told Leeds United: "I'm going to say it's the Championship. Sometimes you can dominate the game and still lose or draw. This was a typical Championship game where anything can happen."We knew that it was going to be difficult because a newly promoted side, like Ipswich last season, they were full of confidence. We knew it was going to be tough but in the beginning we had a lot of chances and we only score one.
Leeds narrowly missed out on promotion to the top flight last season, losing in the play-off final against Southampton. Struijk believes the Whites are still one of the best teams in the league but has warned his fellow team-mates they need to be up for the challenge that brings.
