There are now more than 20,500 beneficiaries of the Pasig city government’s local senior pension (LSP) program, said Mayor Vico Sotto. | ManilaBulletin
The LSP, launched in July 2022, is one of the local government’s social amelioration programs for indigent senior citizens aged 65 and above.
Through the LSP, beneficiaries receive P1,500 quarterly from the local government during their annual quarterly distribution schedules. The mayor met Nanay Remedios during one of his daily barangay visits in line with the “Oplan Kaayusan” initiative, wherein he and other city government officials roam around Pasig’s 30 barangays everyday to commune with residents and hear their concerns.
As he left Nanay Remedios’ compound, Sotto said that he met another senior citizen who was eligible for the LSP but was not registered to the program.
