The woman had to suffer for the majority of the flight before the child eventually fell asleep.
A passenger says she endured an unruly toddler grabbing her hair, kicking her seat and poking at her for hours on a flight while the child's parent did nothing.
Posting on Reddit's 'Am I the A******' forum, the woman said: "I had a fifteen hour flight that began at 8pm and had been planning to sleep throughout the flight to help the time go by, as well as catching up on sleep after traveling for 24+ hours.. "Finally, when the child was sleeping, about four hours into the flight , I decided I, too, could rest. I reclined my chair, about three quarters of the way, not fully, but enough to be comfortable for my sleep. But, since the child was larger than the normal under two years old for lap-sitting, it wasn’t as comfortable for the mother.
However, posters on Reddit were overwhelmingly on her side, arguing that she should not have had to put up with the disruptive behaviour of the child. Parents flying solo with a young child should be aware of some tips that make the process easier. Flight attendants may hold the baby if you need to use the toilet or need a break.
