Blackpool Pleasure Beach's The Big One suddenly stops as passengers forced to walk down
Passengers were forced to walk down The Big One after the ride stopped suddenly at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
The iconic rollercoaster ground to a halt on Tuesday at around 2.50pm when weather conditions changed suddenly. As a result, the stopped on the lift hill. Passengers on the ride were asked to walk back down to the ground, guided by staff at the attraction. Once they were back down to safety, the Big One rollercoaster was closed for the remainder of the day due to high winds.A spokesperson for Blackpool Pleasure Beach said: "At 2.50pm on Tuesday 11th April, Blackpool Pleasure Beach stopped the Big One train on the ride’s lift hill due to sudden changes in weather conditions.
"Guests on the ride were reassured and escorted from the ride by Blackpool Pleasure Beach staff. Due to high gusts of wind the Big One rollercoaster closed for the remainder of the day."
