A while back, the show announced that Pat had decided to, as we often say in the South, “goat the house.” Vanna took the opportunity to negotiate a new contract, and soon the show runners announced the new host who would take over the reins after Pat gives that wheel a final spin. I sound like Donnie Downer when I say I don’t expect the show to survive. Once Seacrest settles in, I anticipate a precipitous drop in viewership that can’t be reversed by all the million-dollar wedges and trips to Antigua they can muster.
