Ahead of the start of the campaign for local candidates, Pateros Mayor Miguel Ponce III urged the public to follow minimum public health standards to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

The Commission on Elections has set the start of campaign period for local candidates on March 25 until May 7.

Under Comelec Resolution 10730, candidates for congressman, and regional, provincial, city and municipal elective positions can campaign during the period. “We are not yet finished with our battle against the pandemic, that is why everyone should stay safe. I remind everyone on the proper wearing of face masks, for people to wear them all the time, especially this time that the campaign for national [candidates] has started and the campaign for local [candidates] will start on March 25,” said Ponce during a live broadcast on Facebook on March 19.
