Oscar-winning actress Patricia Arquette reveals on The Kelly Clarkson Show that she's using dating apps to find love after ending her long-term relationship with Eric White. She candidly discusses the challenges of online dating, including the awkwardness of her Wikipedia page still listing her as in a relationship.
Patricia Arquette has revealed she is using dating apps to find love after quietly ending her long-term relationship with Eric White . The 56-year-old actress appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Tuesday and confirmed she is single and utilizing dating apps . When asked by Clarkson if she gets 'scared' of meeting up with matches, the Oscar winner, who was previously married to Nicolas Cage and Thomas Jane, explained that she uses an app that 'kind of screens people.
' However, she admitted to feeling 'scared' about online dating and joked that Wikipedia has hindered her search for a new relationship. Arquette told Clarkson that her Wikipedia page still lists her as being in a relationship with White, who she dated for nearly nine years between 2014 and 2023. 'Part of the problem for me is like, Wikipedia,' she said of her challenges with online dating. 'On there, I still have the same boyfriend I had a couple of years ago. And, I've been single for two years!' Arquette mused that some of her matches thought she was 'just running around town' since she never publicly announced her split from White. After hearing Arquette is looking for love, Clarkson turned to the cameras and said: 'So we're gonna get the word out now. She's single and mingling!' Clarkson then asked Arquette about her experience on dating apps, noting that she is also single and afraid. 'I go very, very, slowly,' Arquette explained of her approach. 'I also do check up with people that know that person. And I go very slowly.' The performer noted that she doesn't mind talking to someone 'for six months' before 'ever' having coffee with them. 'I believe in going very slow!' Arquette insisted. Back in 2022, Arquette spoke highly of her then-boyfriend, Eric, as she raved that they 'laugh and play' a lot. The couple was first photographed together in 2014 while she was promoting her film Boyhood. Arquette has been open about her dating experiences, both good and bad. In 2021, she joined a popular Twitter prompt about bad dates to reveal that one of her dates became an infamous murderer years later. The star initially shared what sounded like a typical bad date with a 'pro skateboarder' who turned out to be a bad kisser. But, she later revealed that her disastrous second date was with former professional skateboarder Mark 'Gator' Rogowski, who would later confess to brutally raping and murdering his acquaintance Jessica Bergsten in 1991 when she was only 22 years old. Patricia shared her horrifying date in response to the prompt: 'What’s the most awkward date y’all ever been on?' After hearing Arquette is looking for love, Clarkson turned to the cameras and said: 'So we're gonna get the word out now. She's single and mingling!' She specified that it was a 'second date,' writing, 'Pro skateboarder. Really cute. Friends with my friends. 'We made out but something about how he kissed me freaked me out,' she continued, adding that she 'gave him a fake number' at the conclusion of the date. 'Years later he killed his girlfriend,' she concluded starkly. 'Moral to the story — Trust your instincts,' she wrote in a follow-up tweet, before adding, 'And my daughter thinks I’m overprotective.' Arquette and White dated for nearly nine years between 2014 to 2023 (seen together in 2019) Back in 2022, Arquette spoke highly of her then-boyfriend, Eric, as she raved that they 'laugh and play' a lot; seen in 2022 Naturally, other users were fascinated by her eerie story and pressed her for more details, with one person guessing that she was referring to Rogowski. 'Yes right,' replied Arquette. 'He raped and killed. His girl friend who was best friends with his x girlfriend.' One user suggested that the influence of religion on Rogowski had led to his confession. 'I think without religion it never would have been solved. He told his priest,' the actress replied, though Rogowski's eventual confession was instead to a born-again Christian friend. Another person mentioned having a similarly bad experience with a scarily aggressive kisser
