The striker has yet to make a Championship start this season
Patrick Bamford is a notable absentee from Leeds United's matchday squad against Sheffield Wednesday. The striker is not involved due to a hamstring injury suffered in training this week.
Bamford has started just once this term, producing a disappointing showing in United's Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Middlesbrough. Spanish Under-21 international Mateo Joseph has jumped ahead of Bamford in the queue for a starting spot. Joseph will lead the line again tonight but new arrival Largie Ramazani is not involved. He was not registered in time with the English Football League to take part in the Yorkshire derby.
Brenden Aaronson has been given the nod in the No 10 position, with Joel Piroe dropping to the bench. Farke is low on numbers, naming two goalkeepers in Karl Darlow and Alex Cairns on the bench. Sixteen-year-old Sam Chambers is also among the substitutes. United XI: Meslier; Bogle, Rodon, Struijk, Firpo; Ampadu, Gruev; Gnonto, James, Aaronson; Joseph. Substitues: Darlow, Byram, Gelhardt, Crew, Debayo, Rothwell, Chambers, Cairns, Piroe
