Patrick Murphy pointed to some of the Crimson Tide's unsung heroes as its Women's College World Series run continues.
Other major contributions aren’t as easy to see. On Saturday, UA head coach Patrick Murphy was asked about the unsung heroes of the 2024 Tide.
“Jaala Torrence, Kat Grill, KJ Haney, Kendal Clark, M’Kay Gidley, those are saints,” Murphy said on Saturday. “Because they could’ve gone the other way. Because Jaala Torrence had a hell of a role last year that got us basically here. She won all three games in regionals, and then her role changes. Never once did she complain.”
Alabama faces Florida on Saturday in its third game of the WCWS. Just like Friday’s matchup with Duke, if the Crimson Tide loses, the season is over.
