Former Newcastle defender Paul Dummett signs for struggling League Two side Carlisle United on a short-term deal.
Paul Dummett , the former Newcastle United defender, has joined Carlisle United on a short-term deal until the end of the season. Dummett, 33, reunites with Carlisle United Head Coach Mike Williamson, his former teammate at Newcastle. Carlisle are currently struggling at the bottom of League Two , six points from safety, but they have a game in hand on the two teams above them.
Dummett's career has seen him play for various clubs, including Gateshead, St Mirren, and Newcastle, where he made 212 appearances and won the Championship in 2016/17. He also represented Wales five times. Williamson expressed confidence in Dummett's experience and quality, while Sporting Director Rob Clarkson highlighted his high-level experience and the value he brings to the team
