Paul Gascoigne has broken down in tears after he was robbed of £140,000 worth of jewellery last Monday.audience of his show Life Stories where he interviewed Vinnie Jones.
When appearing on Good Morning Britain today, the former footballer made a desperate plea for his belongings to be returned.‘Well, not only did they take the jewellery and the rings and the sentimental things, I thought, “I better get something out of the freezer to eat,” and they’d taken my fillet steak,’ he said trying to make light of the situation.
Through blurry eyes, Paul continued: ‘So, erm, I don’t mind the other stuff, but the sentimental stuff, I don’t mind whoever has got it, if they want to leave it in a bag and put it somewhere, they don’t have to own up to it, it’s just heartbreaking.‘When you see people getting robbed you don’t ever think it will happen to yourself and then yeah, now I’m talking about it, it’s really hit me.’
Addressing the person who broke into the house in Poole, Dorset, the 55-year-old said: ‘You may not have known it was Paul’s home, maybe you did, maybe you saw the tweet.
